The colorful yin-yang motif of these blue earrings is inspired by a design in a Japanese pattern book titled "Shuiko Monyo published in Kyoto: Yamada Unsodo", circa 1930 from the Brooklyn Museum Library, Special Collections. The book depicts traditional designs often used for dyeing cloth.
