Enameled Dragonfly Pin

Sparkling with gold plate and claret enamel, this lovely dragonfly will earn lots of attention when it perches on a jacket or scarf. Its design was inspired by the work of Eugene Alain Seguy, a 20th-century French graphic artist.

Eugene Alain Seguy was one of the foremost French designers at the beginning of the 20th century. Working in both the Art Deco and Art Nouveau styles, he published many design folios utilizing the pochoir technique, a printing process that employs a series of stencils to lay dense and vivid color. From the Brooklyn Museum Library Collection, Seguy's Insectes (1928), this enamel brooch is an adaptation of Palpares imperator, a Madagascar dragonfly design.

Available in Red & Green.
