Peruvian Bird Pin
This Pin is adapted from a bird motif appearing on a pre-Columbian tunic from Peru's Central Coast, dating from circa 1000-1470 A.D. The long neck and beak indicate that this is a sea bird, and the original textile alternates this motif with that of a fish. The coastal peoples of Peru placed great importance on fishing and the resources of the sea.Dimensions: 1.5" x 2"
