Sidewall Leaf Earrings
These earrings are inspired by a wall covering design from the Nancy Warren collection of United Wallpaper in Chicago. With colors tweaked from nature, the wallpaper's mixture of abstract shapes & morphed organic forms offered futuristic excitement in the early 1950s. As the interiors of suburban homes became alive with color, the furnishings displayed exuberant pattern & texture. Created to help personalize the new tract housing, distinctive wallpapers were used to differentiate between living spaces and offer a sense of extended pleasure.Original wallpaper from the collection of the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum, Smithsonian Institution.
