William Morris Bower Pattern Frame
William Morris (English, 1834-96), believed that art should find expression in utilitarian objects that could be enjoyed in everyday life. The Bower pattern motif on this picture frame is adapted from one of forty-nine wallpapers he designed. The original can be seen in a Morris and Co. wallpaper sample book in the collection of the Brooklyn Museum. To clean, wipe with a soft, damp cloth; the frame will not tarnish.
