Inspired by the Brooklyn Museum Archives’ Printed Ephemera collection, OnlyNY selected logos from old flyers, pamphlets, and invitations. Our visual identity has changed a lot over the decades, with our graphic designers always coming up with something fresh.
This typeface was used on a flyer for a “new and different” open house that took place on Friday, November 3, 1978, 7–10 pm. The event, which highlighted two exhibitions, Africa in Antiquity: The Arts of Ancient Nubia and the Sudan and Haitian Art, included film screenings and Haitian master drummers playing ceremonial music.
