Curated by Sarah Andelman, Just An Idea Books launched in April 2021 with five titles representing an array of independent talents: Sho Shibuya, Nicole McLaughlin, Douglas Coupland, Louis-Géraud Castor, and Eric Ng. In December 2021, a second series followed up with seven more creative minds: Brad Hall, Dude with Sign, Edward Bess, Matt McCormick, Nick Newbold, Pelle Cass, and Sean Wotherspoon.

Brad Hall never runs out of ways to shoot himself. His offbeat, awkward selfies and portraits show an eccentric style—a mixture of normcore/tech geek staples, such as pleated khakis and patternless button-down shirts, and the newest, coolest sneakers. Making each photo more perplexing is the deadpan way in which he describes the subtly absurd images. Through an ever-changing collection of ensembles, Hall has mastered the art of uncool.
