Georgia O'Keeffe (American, 1887–1986). Poppies, 1950.
This oil painting is an example of O’Keeffe’s unique representation of enlarged flowers, a stylistic combination between abstraction and precisionism. Set against a background of blue, two poppy flowers take up the majority of the canvas, a white one partially obscured by a peach one. The details of their deep purple and crimson stamens and stigma and smooth tonal gradations of their petals are characteristic of O’Keeffe’s floral work.
This print has been produced with the highest quality pigmented, non-toxic, environmentally friendly ink with a color permanence rating of at least 200-year stability. Printed on 100% acid-free cotton fine art paper. Prints are available either unframed or framed. All unframed prints include a suitably sized white border which enhances their look when placed in any standard off-the-shelf frame. Frames are made of wood and available in Black or White.
