Tamara Mayne is a fragrance obsessive and a designer who founded Brooklyn Candle Studio in 2013. Tamara hails from Virginia and studied Fine Art and Economics at the University of Virginia before moving to New York. Creatively unfulfilled after subsequent jobs in the finance and technology fields, she enrolled at the Fashion Institute of Technology in 2009 to study graphic design. Armed with nothing more than a kit from a local craft store, she began making candles as gifts for friends and family in 2012 and soon became deeply immersed in aromatherapy and candle-making. She now spends her days working on creative, marketing, and product development for Brooklyn Candle Studio, shooting campaigns, chasing her young son around, and practicing some sort of art form (current passions are woodworking and painting)
