Toward Joy: New Frameworks for American Art is organized by Stephanie Sparling Williams, Andrew W. Mellon Curator of American Art. With further contributions by the curatorial team at the Brooklyn Museum, including Caroline Gillaspie, Grace Billingslea, Nancy Rosoff, Dare Turner, Catherine Futter and Liz St George.
